Happier Hour uses two scales considered central research tools in the field of Positive Psychology.

Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) – developed by Ed Diener, Robert A. Emmons, Randy J. Larsen and Sharon Griffin.

Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) -developed by Ed Diener, Derrick Wirtz, Robert Biswas-Diener, William Tov, Chu Kim-Prieto, Dong-won Choi, and Shigehiro Oishi.
